Overview & Reviews
There are no changes on the 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid, though Ford has extended powertrain warranty coverage to five years/60,000 miles as of July 2006 (Hybrid components are still backed by an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty).
- Surprisingly powerful hybrid drivetrain, easily gets 30 mpg, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior with roomy backseat.
- Noisy four-cylinder engine, added weight of hybrid components dulls handling, overly stiff brake pedal.

2007 Ford Escape Hybrid FWD w/ leather and navigation - 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid
By keremnathan - December 7 - 2:06 amWe just purchased a new FEH in Houston. We went with the premium package with the silver exterior. Overall, it looks great inside and out. The ride is comfortable, great at handling the uneven and unpredictable city streets. I wouldnt recommend it for off-road use or for towing. We traded in a 2.8L Audi A4 which was a great drivers car, very difficult to accelerate modestly. The FEH actually encourages the driver to accelerate and brake slowly to keep the gas engine off and reduce fuel consumption. Overall, our initial impression has been positive.

Hybrid Rocks - 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid
By Nan - November 12 - 3:03 pmThe surprise is how nimble footed and energetic the Ford Escape is. I considered the import name brands but canvassed coworkers and found a lot of the engineers at the lab had opted for the Escape so I took it for a test drive. The model I got comes loaded and I have no regrets!

Fun to drive, worth every penny - 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid
By Rob - October 7 - 3:26 pmI just bought this Escape Hybrid a couple weeks ago. Not only is it fun to drive, the mileage more than makes up for the slightly higher price. I get about 30 mpg, but mpg probably depends on how you drive. Faster acceleration means less battery use and lower mpg (my wife used it for a couple days and the onboard calculator showed 27.7 mpg). I have the FWD, so if you get 4WD, expect lower mileage. With the $2,600 tax credit, the hybrid only costs a little more than the 18 to 20 mpg regular Escape.

Love my AWD SUV hybrid - 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid
By alicep - April 23 - 4:03 pmI traded in my 4.0 liter 2002 4X4 Ford Ranger for this SUV. I had stopped driving my truck because the gas mileage was 14mpg. I only drove it to the mountains and then three people didnt fit comfortably. I cant wait to take this in the snow. Ive had this vehicle 4 months and love it. Its so smooth and its fun trying to keep it on electric. But I miss peeling out like I did in my truck and no more doughnuts in the snow! The power took a little getting used to. It doesnt throw you back in the seat when you step on it, but it gets up and goes so smoothly you dont even notice the acceleration.
